Why I Built BrainSite

I didn't set out to build a memory product. I built the thing I got tired of not having.

Allan Ta, founder of BrainSite

I didn't set out to build a memory product.

I was pairing with Claude and Codex early in BrainSite's build, moving through a dozen small decisions a day. A few weeks in, I noticed a pattern: I kept re-explaining context I'd already given. The stack, the pricing rationale, a decision from two days earlier that I'd already moved past. Every session started from zero.

Most AI tools work this way today, stateless, one conversation at a time, with nothing connecting Monday's decision to Friday's follow-up.

I started wondering what that would cost the businesses I was building BrainSite for. A real estate agent's website might talk to fifty people in a given month. If the agent behind it forgets each one the moment they leave, that's the same problem I kept running into with my own tools, at a much bigger cost: a missed follow-up, a lead repeating themselves, a relationship that never compounds.

BrainSite exists because I got tired of re-explaining myself to a tool that should have remembered. I built the thing I actually needed.

I'm Allan, I build AI agents and go-to-market systems. Before this: Roseon, which reached 350K users, and a handful of open-source tools. More about the work: allanta8.github.io.
